Did you ever get an answer on this? You cannot make it region free, but you can switch the regions. You have to have the remote.
Make sure the player has no disc in it.
Power it on
Use the remote to get to the Setup page
Tab over to Preferences
Press 1379
Use up/down arrows to select region
Press enter
Press Setup again to exit the mode
Voila!

then it shows region code one and the up and down arrows do NOT let you change the region code on my Polaroid PDX-0075
do you think they caught on to this and changed something on the newer models?

I try this and work, unfotunetly it broken. Recently I buy an otjer one teh ame model, and now does't work this hack. It work up to brin the region box, but don't change with the arrows.
Any une tray other way?

I have purchased 3 polaroid Pdx 0073 This hack worked fine on two of them one it did not work so I returned it and got another one and the hack works.
YOU CAN MAKE IT REGION FREE:
Make sure the player has no disc in it.
Power it on
Use the remote to get to the Setup page
Tab over to Preferences
Press 1379
Use up/down arrows to select region 0 to make region free
Press enter
Press Setup again to exit the mode

Iam sorry but it doesn't work on my polaroid PDX-0073! I did buy this player in the US at Target. Now i´m back in Europe, so it´s not very easy to return and get a new one.....
Is it possible that polaroid did blocked the firmware? This player is manufactured in June 2007!

Some of the players change by hitting the enter button, it will scroll throught the regions until you get which you want.

HELP!!!
It does not work on a PDX-0073 manufactured in April 2007!
I tried it in the setup page and all the info and the region colored in green appear, but no way on changing it!!
In the preference page as well but impossible to change!
the enter button does not work, the +10 button either
