just so you all know, you cannot unlock this machine....if you have otheregion discs then use clonedvd to copy them, then this will play the copied dvd.

I have the Sony DVP FX 730 and the same problem. Cannot play my 5 year old daughter's DVD's that is region 1. I suppose it cannot be done otherwise there would have been some answer already. Im wondering if any one gets to code and if they do could do us all a favor and post it on here. American living in Brazil with a hundred of movies to catch up on and a Sony dvp fz730 and its a rejion 1, Im in region 4.

Hi, I bought a DVD Compact DIsc DVP FX730 in USA, but I live in Brazil. Can I unlock/change the region code? In Brazil we use region 4 and my DVD just play region 1.
