Windows mce not playing dvds

I have a new computer with windows mce, and the windows media player will play DVDs and I downloaded powerDVD but I still get an error message when I use the mce player - video decoder not installed? How can that be? everything else works, but not that...Please help!!

U need to configure the Media Center Edition Software before U can play
