how do i convert dvd9( ntsc ) in dvd5 ( pal) wiht subtitle ?

converting dvd9 to dvd5 is easy enough, as you just use something like DVD Shrink, which allows to rmeove all the bits you don't want (just leave the subtitles). Do you really need to convert from NTSC to PAL, or does your equipment play NTSC? (Most modern PAL equipment copes with NTSC anyway)

Is there a format known as DVD+RW9 ?
My burner says to insert a blank disk with this designation but people I talked to at Office Depot and Best Buy say they never heard of any such blank.
